There were sea lions at the fair??

Greetings from Lubbock!

Today is my 4 month birthday and we celebrated by going to the South Plains Fair! It was so much fun! I got to hear some crazy music, smell every possible food imaginable fried in batter, look at flashing lights, pet animals, and watch a sea lion show. Isn't that weird, sea lions in Lubbock?

I am such a big boy now. I can laugh a lot and practically never stop talking. On October 15th, I am getting baptized in the church that Daddy grew up in. I will be wearing a christening gown that has been in the Beggs family for almost, if not more than, a century. I got my 4 month vaccinations over the weekend. I didn't have as bad a reaction to them this time, but still spent most of Sunday feeling yucky. I have developed a loud squeal that I try to make when I don't feel good. I've noticed that it gets me special attention, so I try to do it a lot, especially after shots. I think that I took it too far this past weekend though. I tried it on Monday night, when I was feeling better, and the parentals looked at me like I was faking. Of course, they still picked me up and loved on me.

My newest trick is scratching up my face with my fingernails. Daddy thought that he would nip this in the bud by trimming my nails, but snipped my thumb skin instead. For those of you who would like to learn from the best, you must insert a loud squeal and some large croccodile tears when this happens. Unfortunately, Daddy won't come near me with nail clippers now.

Yesterday, I ate rice cereal for the first time. Mommy used up a whole roll of film on me while I was eating. I sure am cute with dried cereal on my face. At one point, I was able to fling the cereal from Daddy's spoon and into my eye. I'm ok though.

Well, I will go. Just FYI, Mommy really, REALLY misses her friends in Austin. I miss all the attention that her co-workers gave me. We hope that you will keep in touch. Check back in a couple of weeks, as I am sure there will be all kinds of info on my baptism and first halloween (that's a weird combo...).

Take Care,

Evan Beggs
