Merry Christmas!
I'm supposed to be in bed asleep, but I was so excited that I had to share my news! There are 2 presents under the Christmas tree for me!!! And there's a sock hanging on the mantle that has a teddy bear and my name on it!!! Mommy keeps buying me stocking stuffers! I LOVE Christmas time!!
I hope that everyone had a great thanksgiving. I did! So many people held me and told me how cute and sweet I was. It doesn't get much better than that. Not a whole lot has happened this month. I got to see (and taste) snow. When Daddy took me outside to see the snowflakes, I stuck out my tounge and tried to get some in my mouth. Mommy tried to get me to eat snow, but it was too cold and I made a terrible face. Mommy keeps trying to get me to eat weird stuff. Tonight it was rice cereal and applesauce mixed together. She thinks that she is so smart by putting it on her finger and then sticking her finger in my mouth. I don't have the heart to tell her that I have figured out her trick. I don't know why she wants me to eat real food. I think that it makes much more sense to come get me in the middle of the night and feed me a bottle while I sleep. What's that? Well, of course I sleep while mommy and daddy feed me in the middle of the night. Sleep is important and I really like it. I'm sure that they like getting up and feeding me in the middle of the cold, lonely night.
I have started sitting up on my own. I did it on 11/29, but didn't really perfect it until 11/30, which was also when it snowed here. I thought that it was too cold to stay outside for a long stretch of time, so I worked on my sitting skills in front of the TV. I'm good at it now. Tonight, I sat in front of the TV watching Wheel of Fortune and playing my piano. I love Wheel of Fortune. There are cool noises and Vanna's pretty. Papa says that I am partial to blonde women. Honestly, wasn't checking out those ladies at dinner the other night...or at Hobby Lobby...or at church...
I'm going to be the littlest lamb in the Christmas pageant at church on December 17th. My dress rehersal is this Sunday. I really hope that I don't completely steal the show. That wouldn't be fair to the other actors. I'll have to try to tone down my natural charm. I got my first professional pictures taken on the day before Thanksgiving. I'm a model! Mommy told me that I can't cry as much at the next photo shoot because I'll get a reputation for being hard to work with. There were 2 pictures taken of me in my christening gown, 2 taken in my pants, shirt, and vest next to the Christmas tree, and one nude shot of me. It was done very tastefully if you are curious. Maybe I will give some of the photos out at Christmas.
Well, I better go. I hope that everyone has a great holiday season. Feel free to send me gifts! I have a new wish list on the Target website!
Ciao,
Evan

I'm an old people lovin', costume partyin', rolling over animal!
Happy Autumn Everyone!
Today is the day after Halloween and I am trying to recover from a night of partying. Yesterday I spent the day at my baby-sitter, Rachel's, house. I was dressed up in a halloween outfit that my Papa said made me look like a cat burgler. Then, I packed myself up and headed over to Nana's, where I put on a clown costume that Mommy made. I didn't like it that much, but the pom poms on the front tasted good. Then, we headed to Elmbrook Estates, an assisted living facility, to trick or treat with Great Grandmother and Pa. Finally, we went to Grammy's house, where I visited with my cousins and tried to roll over. I'm a real party animal, but I guess I'm going to have to take it easy next time. Maybe I'll leave out the assisted living facility. Those people wear me out!
Breaking news! I finally rolled over! It was a harrowing experience. I had been working on it for a while, but just hadn't perfected my leg moves, so I decided to try it again on Saturday night. As I worked and worked, Daddy and Nana were watching the UT/Texas Tech game. She likes UT and Daddy likes Tech. Mommy was ignoring the whole lot of us and didn't see it happen. Nana and Daddy were too busy snapping back and forth at each other to really see it happen, but they figured it out pretty quickly when they noticed I was on my tummy and not on my back. After that, I was the center of attention and worked on it some more, until I wore myself out. I think that it was more exciting than the football game! I finally fell asleep in my mommy's arms, exhausted from my efforts.
The weekend of October 14th and 15th was so much fun! Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the cornfield maze and attended cousin Aimee's 5th birthday party. While we were in the maze, it started to pour rain on us and we had no way to get out! Finally, a nice man led us out of the maze through the emergency exit. The next morning, we all went to Covenant Presbyterian Church and I got baptized in an old, old gown. The minister took me around the congregation and told everyone all about me and afterward, all kinds of people came up to me and held me. I liked all of the attention, but it made me tired.
My goodness, a lot has happened since last time! I can't wait until I get to update you again next month. Maybe I will be crawling! Anyway, until then, I hope that everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! Remember to get out early the morning after and buy me lots of Christmas presents!
Love,
Evan

There were sea lions at the fair??
Greetings from Lubbock!
Today is my 4 month birthday and we celebrated by going to the South Plains Fair! It was so much fun! I got to hear some crazy music, smell every possible food imaginable fried in batter, look at flashing lights, pet animals, and watch a sea lion show. Isn't that weird, sea lions in Lubbock?
I am such a big boy now. I can laugh a lot and practically never stop talking. On October 15th, I am getting baptized in the church that Daddy grew up in. I will be wearing a christening gown that has been in the Beggs family for almost, if not more than, a century. I got my 4 month vaccinations over the weekend. I didn't have as bad a reaction to them this time, but still spent most of Sunday feeling yucky. I have developed a loud squeal that I try to make when I don't feel good. I've noticed that it gets me special attention, so I try to do it a lot, especially after shots. I think that I took it too far this past weekend though. I tried it on Monday night, when I was feeling better, and the parentals looked at me like I was faking. Of course, they still picked me up and loved on me.
My newest trick is scratching up my face with my fingernails. Daddy thought that he would nip this in the bud by trimming my nails, but snipped my thumb skin instead. For those of you who would like to learn from the best, you must insert a loud squeal and some large croccodile tears when this happens. Unfortunately, Daddy won't come near me with nail clippers now.
Yesterday, I ate rice cereal for the first time. Mommy used up a whole roll of film on me while I was eating. I sure am cute with dried cereal on my face. At one point, I was able to fling the cereal from Daddy's spoon and into my eye. I'm ok though.
Well, I will go. Just FYI, Mommy really, REALLY misses her friends in Austin. I miss all the attention that her co-workers gave me. We hope that you will keep in touch. Check back in a couple of weeks, as I am sure there will be all kinds of info on my baptism and first halloween (that's a weird combo...).
Take Care,
Evan Beggs

Lubbock or Leave It
Hello everyone,
There is so much to tell! First things first- I am 3 months old! Mommy and Daddy have kept a human being alive for 3 whole months!
I have started standing up on mommy and daddy's legs when they are holding me. Before you know it, I'll be walking and then driving, and then off to medical school. Probably all before the age of 15, because I am very gifted. I have also started laughing (a little). So far, I've only laughed at my parents, but I have a feeling that soon they will be more embarassing than humorous.
Right now, I am drinking milk out of a bottle and then holding it in my mouth and puffing my cheeks out. I can be funny too, you see.
Mommy got a new job a couple of weeks ago, so we are moving to Lubbock, that place we went last month. It wasn't bad. I get to see the fam more often, which is a good thing because it appears that everytime I'm around my Nana, I poop a lot more. I don't know why. Anyway, we are moving to a new house and I will have my own room. Finally, I can sleep in my crib and not that cradle that Mommy and Daddy keep in their room! Actually, I think Daddy wanted me to sleep in my own room a couple of months ago, but Mommy kept getting up in the middle of the night and moving me back to her room, so he stopped trying. I'm too big for that babyish cradle anyway. My arm hangs out the side of it when I stretch out!
Well, I must go. There is a lot to do before we move and if I don't keep an eye on them, Mommy and Daddy won't get any packing done! Keep your fingers crossed that the move goes smoothly and that I don't lose any of my stuff in the trip. Oh yeah, keep your fingers crossed that Mommy and Daddy don't lose any of their stuff either.
Love,
Evan

Snoopy band-aids and my weight issues
Hello,
Right now, as mommy writes this, I am sleeping in the living room, under the fan. It sure is hot outside! Mommy wants to take me swmming, but apparently I am too little.
I don't think that I am so small. Today I had a doctor's appointment for my 2 month birthday, which is on Wednesday. (Feel free to send a gift. I'm not really registered anywhere, but I will accept most anything, including cash.) I was weighed and learned that I weigh 11 pounds, 1 ounce. Mommy and Daddy argued after they found out about that. It seems that they had a bet going beforehand regarding how much I actually weighed. The winner got to sleep for a whole night while the loser had to take care of my every nutritional whim. (Why you would actually want to sleep rather than play with me, I'll never understand...) Mommy said that I would probably weigh 10 pounds and Daddy thought that I would weigh 12 pounds. They both thought that they won the bet, but I think that Mommy was actually the real winner. Actually, I say "buy a scale, weigh me at home on a regular basis, and quit embarassing me in public."
Anyway, I am now 22.5 inches long and my head is a whopping 37.8 centimeters. That means that I have a big brain in there. I also got some shots while at Dr. Booker's office. They hurt, but not too bad. I thought about making a scene and crying a lot, but I only managed about 30 seconds worth on noise. I decided that I was too tired to care. Anyway, I got some pretty Snoopy band-aids plastered all over my legs, so it was all worth it in the end.
This weekend we get to go to Lubbock and meet the rest of the fam. It's going to be Mommy's birthday next week and she would like to spend it with her family. I haven't decided what to get her yet. I'm thinking of a big, full poopy diaper. Those are always fun. I am supposed to meet with Father Davis Price while we are there and discuss baptism. I hope that they do it soon. Some cool water on my head sounds great in this heat! If anyone would like to get together with me while I am in town, just let me know. I will be there until Thursday.
Well, I need to go. There is still so much left to do today. I have at least a couple of meals left to plan before I go to bed. Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to leave me a message!!
Love,
Evan Beggs

Pretty Lame 4th of July
Hi everyone! Yesterday was the 4th of July! It was okay, but it rained a lot, so I decided to sleep through most of it. I did wake up long enough to wet on my flag onesie and to watch some fireworks on TV. At one point Mommy and I dance around the living room to some patriotic music. That was fun, but she's kind of goofy... I am growing a mile a minute. This Friday (7/7/06) I will be 6 weeks old! I started making real smiles at Mommy and Daddy this week, but I'm being stingy with them. I say, let them work for my approval. I met my Grandaddy a couple of weeks ago and I also met my Aunt Paige and Uncle Chris. It's fun meeting new family, 'cause they all hold me, kiss me, and tell me how cute I am. I am pretty darn cute you know. I can even get people in the grocery store to stop and tell me how cute I am. Mommy and Daddy think that I should be a baby model and earn some money. Then, they can quit their jobs and wait on me hand and foot all day, as I have become accustomed. Anyway, I will update you on my charmed life again soon. In the meantime, check out some new pictures on the website and take our newest poll.
Ciao,
Evan

Heeeeerrrrre's Evan!
Hi everyone! I'm home! It has been a whirlwind of activity here! The past two weeks seem like a lifetime to me (ha ha). Friday was my two week birthday and I celebrated it by going to the doctor and having my heel pricked and blood drawn. However, I was a big boy and only cried for about 10 seconds. I have gotten to spend lots of time with my 2 grandmothers, Nana and Grammy. Nana came to Austin for a while to help mom get to know me. She held me a lot and smelled really good. Grammy Piper was at the hospital when I was born. She bought me lots of clothes and toys while she was here. I can't wait to see her again! I was born on Friday, May 26th at 4:18pm. Mom said that the delivery was pretty easy once the third epidural kicked in. She didn't feel a thing. Her doctor actuallly poured lots of olive oil over my head during the delivery, so I kinda slid out of mommy before anyone was prepared. Luckily, the doctor moved fast and caught me just in time. I weighed 8 pounds exactly and was 20.5 inches. I know that sounds big, but I'm still swimming in my newborn clothes. I'm learning to sleep at night and have discovered that sucking on my index finger helps me relax. Everyone thinks that I am pretty darn smart, as I can help hold up my own bottle during feedings. I have a new friend, Tabitha, who is a tabby cat that constantly follows mommy and me around the house. There's another kitty, Lucy, but she keeps to herself. Please send me messages. I like to hear about how cute I am and how much everyone loves me. I promise to keep everyone updated on my progress as a little man.
Bye!
Evan
